The Flood Guard is an added attachment for air valves, designed to protect potable water systems from external contamination caused by overflow of floodwater in the manhole air valve. If contaminated water fills the manhole and enters the pipeline via the air & vacuum (kinetic) discharge outlet, the Flood Guard seals at zero pressure, guaranteeing a leak-tight seal and preventing the water from entering the air valve.
