Non Slam or Surge Arresting Air Valve

Non Slam (NS) or Surge Arresting (SA) Air Valves are designed to allow large air intake, preventing the risk of excessive negative pressure that may cause collapse of the pipe, and to restrict air outflow when discharge air velocity exceeds a threshold value. This creates a slow closing 'air cushion' that decelerates the water velocity, preventing a water hammer effect from occurring.
